Hello

My name is Gina Luna Leão Josephs and I am a self taught Italian Artist, raised in Brazil, living with my beloved husband and adored cats, in the Liminal Space of Onset, (Historically Cape Cod) Massachussets, USA: my house is in a Realm so Magical that the Post Office can't locate it!

I am passionate about colorful bright happy Art!

I have recently started painting sceneries of the beach, cats, Roses, faeries and people.

My Story

Art has been with me since the first time I picked up a crayon.

My first drawings consisted of dragon heads and snakes in spirals (who knows why!).

It is a blessing to have a mother that adores everything I create and that always goes about telling everybody:"Gina is an Artist". She help me realize what I was before I knew it myself.

I sold my first painting when I was four years old and that made me believe I was an Artist for sure! LOL!

I had one oil painting class when I painted a large oil painting in an afternoon. This class for all ages happened at the teacher's house and we painted the afternoon away. I was so excited! They chose an image for me to paint of a street with houses on it. I was 11 years old! I definetly wanted to paint something else if I had the choice. The teacher would come by every now and then and pick up the brush from our hands and make corrections on our paintings. I was bored, I hated it, I didn't learn anything.

I didn't paint again for many many years.

In 1998 I started sculpting statues with air dry clay. It wasn't until I discovered polymer clay that I started creating Art Dolls and statues. and then little fairies. My Art Dolls, Statues and later on BJDs were published in prestigious Art Magazines in the USA and Canada. In January 2010 I started sculpting in fine porcelain and by the end of February I sculpted the first modern ball jointed doll in fine porcelain without using molds. A famous European porcelain sculptress told me I was brave!

Because I had to improve my painting to use China Paint on the porcelain, years later, I started realizing that I could paint better than I thought! I was excited about it and slowly started on my painting journey.

Now I'm in love with painting!

I accept commissions for paintings and will paint your heart's desires! Just let me know.

Please feel free to contact me any time.
